Three Birds with a Stone

When the tide goes out, these spotted sandpipers scurry around, sometimes perching on small stones to spot something to eat.  On a recent trip to Newfoundland, we enjoyed the antics of these sweet little birds and laughed at the comical saunter with their long legs.  This watercolour painting was done on a rainy afternoon while we were staying in a little cottage on Charlottetown, Newfoundland.  It is matted to approximately 15"x19".
