Born to be Wild

After reading a novel about wolves, I was inspired to create this graphite drawing. Wolves are the ancestors of all domestic dogs.  The early work of Farley Mowat, "Never Cry Wolf" and the novel "Once There Were Wolves" by Charlotte McConaghy have given me a new respect for these caring, social creatures.  As I worked on this, I tried to give each pencil stroke a soft, fur-like look as I varied the value (light, medium, dark) of the lines to give the piece depth and texture. It is 9"x9" and matted to 14"x14".  Please inquire about framing.
